Penn-Delco Students Celebrate the International Day of Peace

On September 21, Penn-Delco elementary students celebrated the International Day of Peace with activities focused on peace, kindness, hope and community.

Across our elementary schools, students took part in Pinwheels for Peace, creating colorful pinwheels decorated with their own messages of peace and positive thoughts. Students then “planted” their pinwheels throughout their school grounds, creating colorful displays for their school communities to enjoy.

Classrooms also found their own ways to recognize the day, with students participating in a variety of peace-themed activities and discussions. These activities gave students an opportunity to reflect on what peace means to them and consider how their everyday actions can help create a kinder, more welcoming school community.

Together, these activities gave students a chance to reflect on the importance of peace and the role each of us can play in creating a kinder school community.
